About Us

Pottschmidt Pumping & Agitation is dedicated to provide a service of the environmentally-friendly return of liquid farm-animal manure to the soil for the nourishment of the earth to replenish the minerals and nutrients that are extracted as a result of agricultural operations. We proudly view ourselves as partners with our customers, our employees, our community and our environment. Our goal is to maintain the integrity of our business through the careful handling of liquid manure material as we transfer it to be reintroduced back into our customer’s soil. We offer agitation, not only during pumping season, but during the off-season as well. We pump up to 2 miles from your manure storage. We also use utilize VTI (vertical tillage injection) to incorporate this “liquid gold” back into the earth for beneficial reuse through all types of crop residue. Through sampling and lab analysis we report back to you with specifics on gallons/acre applied and nutrients information.

Paul

Paul Pottschmidt

Owner

Paul is a third generation farmer working on the family farm, and holds a certificate in Agricultural Management from Purdue University. He has experience in the gas and oil industry, as well as working in the Pulp & Paper industry for about eight years. His farming activities involve row crops, operating a swine nursery, and breeding goats. Paul has been pumping liquid manure since 1997 and began by pumping from manure pits into a single tank. That grew to pumping and transporting manure in road-worthy tanks to the applicator tank. Today he has taken his business from a tank operation to a drag-hose operation. Paul is married and has two children at home. In his spare time Paul enjoys spending time with his family, driving Jeeps, riding dirt bikes, and working out in his shop.
Jim

Jim Napier

Team Leader

Jim joined our team in the Spring of 2016. He is a great asset for leading our team and has over 30 years experience in local foam-rubber manufacturing, large-scale printing, and in a pharmaceutical manufacturer. Jim has managed and supervised the maintenance shops, operated printing presses, shipping & handling, and equipment set-up. Jim was new to agriculture, but fits right in and enjoys his leadership role; he quickly stated that “there’s something new and different everyday when we come to work.” Jim is married and has seven adult children and several grandchildren. Jim enjoys fishing, wood-working, and tinkering in his garage on cars and motorcycles.
